Low energy long life lighting HSS Aug'08 JOUR 72+4pp 6/8/08 09:41 Page 60 August 1st 2008 Areas with high roofs, such
as factories and warehouses,
that use SON (high pressure
sodium) or metal halide
light sources, will achieve
reductions in energy and
maintenance costs by
installing Endurance
luminaires, says Chalmor.
Endurance luminaires are
low energy and long life.
Chalmor says Endurance can
provide maintenance-free
lighting for between eight
and 20 years, depending on
daily use.
When Knauf Drywall
compared life cycle costs for
Endurance against
conventional low bay
discharge fittings for its new
South Humberside
warehousing facility, savings
of over £50 000 per annum
were predicted, says
Chaldor. This figure includes
more than
£41,000 on
electricity, with
over £4400
additional
savings on the
Climate
Change Levy
and a further
£7600 savings
on
maintenance
costs.
Guaranteed for five years,
closed Endurance fittings
with IP65 ingress protection
use bright white 150W
induction lamps with colour
rendering. For low and high
bay applications, an open
200W version has been
introduced.
Endurance luminaires are
supplied with high
frequency control gear as
standard. Each lamp will
provide nearly 8 years of
lighting when used for 24
hours a day, 13 years when
used for 15 hours per day
and up to 20 years when
used for 10 hours a day.
Endurance is available
with symmetrical or
asymmetrical optics. Colour
temperature is 4000K. More articles from Chalmor Limited: |
