Passes printer's quality demands February 1st 2009 Venture Lighting's Metal
Halide lamps are being used
to achieve the quality
standard ISO 12647 for PCP
in Shropshire, a company
that prints magazines and
brochures.
To meet the criteria for
the ISO standard, the
lighting levels have to be
such that they enable the
printers to clearly identify
and match colours. This has
been achieved by equipping
the light canopies above the
press desk with 5000k D50
specification lighting, which
is a tight tolerance full
spectrum fitting. The 5000K
is used to give good
representation of printed
images with different ink
types under artificial light.
In the printing machinery
areas, where any illumination
that is not of sufficient quality
will contaminate the D50
lighting in the viewing area,
Venture's 365W Natural
White lamps are used within
existing Holophane fittings.
Warren Irving, works and
technical director says "The
lux level now provided has
the added advantage that if
a customer chooses to 'press
pass' a job, the quality of
lighting in all of the print
areas will give an excellent
representation of the job
viewed in natural daylight." More articles from Venture Lighting Ltd: |
