Port of Tyne’s easy loading
June 1st 2005 An 18 bay warehouse opened at the Port of Tyne features loading bay equipment supplied exclusively by Easilift Loading Systems. As part of its £110,000 contract Easilift equipped each of the loading bays with an electrically operated insulated sectional overhead Powerdoor measuring 2750mm wide x 3300mm high, together with a Type 233 Poweramp dock leveller.
The Poweramp 233 is a telescopic lip type hydraulic dock leveller that bridges the difference in height and distance between the dock and vehicle floor. It is raised and lowered automatically by the press of a button and immediately brought to the correct height, after which a 500mm long telescopic lip is extended until it meets the floor of the vehicle. It has a single axle load capacity of 6000kg.
Each bay also has an Easilift Type 403 dock shelter – a hard wearing general-purpose dock shelter designed to seal off the widest variety of vehicles during loading and unloading, plus an LED type traffic light and a loading dock light.
