Customised golf carts move staff around site

Sports retailer, JJB Sports, has purchased three specially customised Ransomes Jacobsen golf carts for use by staff at the extensive head office and distribution centre in Wigan.

The facility centre comprises two huge warehouses covering 500,000ft2, with a frontage that runs for over a quarter of a mile, together with a new main office complex. The distance between the office block and other parts of the complex can be long and with staff walking around the site it could have a negative impact on productivity.

We required vehicles that were quiet and efficient and they had to be weatherproof and carry small items around the complex, said JJBs Robert Andrew. Lee Ashcroft of local dealer Burrows agreed to customise three electric-powered

E-Z-GO TXT golf cars, fit them with transport boxes, road lighting and all-weather wraparound canopies.
