Improved product flow December 1st 2006 Nylacast Materials in Leicester, working in the extrusion of plastics, has improved product flow and materials handling with the installation of a CopriSystems canopy building. Measuring 15m long, 18m wide and 5m high, the side wall mounted canopy provides a protective corridor between the extrusion hall and the main store of raw materials, polymers and plastics. CopriSystems was able to design the canopy to fit between two existing buildings. These buildings, 15m apart, also back onto a railway line which had to be catered for. Existing roof lines had to be followed. "The canopy has given us a large surface area of dry and protected space in which to work. As a consequence our product flow has improved considerably," said Damian McCormack, operations manager. CopriSystems canopy buildings are constructed from a galvanised steel frame with a self extinguishing PVC coated polyester cover. All canopies are wind and snow load tested to BS6399.
