Fencing for machine safety
June 1st 2007

Troax UK has used its Rapid Fix machine fencing to construct a comprehensive machine safety solution for Next Retail's distribution centre. The machine guarding system is designed to create a safety barrier around a series of 30 automated crane aisles and conveyors. It reaches 12 metres in height over three levels and is part of the automated warehouse system installed at the site by Dematic. The fencing prevents unauthorised access to the guarded area and Troax says it ensures highest safety standards for personnel. The Rapid Fix fencing protects the front and rear of the crane aisles which are located on three separate levels; the upper levels reaching a total height of 12 metres.

Each crane aisle door is fitted with a RIM cylinder lock and push pad release at the front, with push pads fitted at the rear.
