Buckets of cash not necessary with Nerak June 1st 2005 Back in June 1985 Granta Processors, based near Cambridge, purchased an exdemo continuous bucket elevator from Nerak to convey grain products from ground level up 4 metres to the sieving and grading unit.
A modification was made to the elevator to suit its plant layout, and the total cost of the equipment to Granta was slightly over £5000.
Since then, the elevator has given continuous service, 40 hours a week. The only call Nerak received was 14 years later, when an engineer was needed for a day to repair a worn belt.
Twenty years on, Granta is buying a new belt and bucket assembly for the elevator as part of a preventative maintenance programme – the original having produced around 40,000 hours of use. |
