Secure area for high value goods

Somerfield is securing high value good such as alcohol and tobacco at its new Merseyside distribution centre with a large, wire mesh enclosure designed and installed by industrial safety and partitioning specialist, Troax.

For the secure bonded area, Troax designed a freestanding wire mesh structure using its Broadsword range of industrial wire mesh partitioning. Reaching a height of 16m, the 60m long enclosure completely segregates the bonded area from the ambient store.

Troax also installed its Delta Guard wire mesh screening along the rows of pallet racking within the enclosure to prevent items from falling and possibly injuring staff working in the aisles below.

Forklift access is via a pair of sliding doors, each four metres wide.
