Compactor balers reduce costs
October 1st 2004 The UK is being urged to adopt better waste management measures. The rate at which Landfill Tax will rise has been tripled, so the top tax rate will increase annually by £3 per metric tonne, with a target of £34 per tonne.
Despite industry’s apparent ability to absorb these costs, often it is only when they are audited that the extent of the expenditure is fully realised and the benefits of more efficient, environmentally friendly methods of disposal are appreciated.
Mil-tek UK has published a series of case studies showing clients with annual savings running into many thousands of pounds, simply by using pneumatic compactor balers.
Typical of the company’s compactor balers is the Waste Press Model 205. Simple to use and maintain, and with a low noise level, the Model 205 can compact materials like cardboard, plastic, polystyrene or textiles by up to 90% of their volume.
A straightforward strapping system means that bales of between 50 and 100kg can be produced, removed on a barrow and easily stacked tidily while awaiting disposal.
