Waste cut by 50%

achieving ISO 14001
environmental
accreditation, Stertil
Stokvis has reduced its
waste by 50%. The
loading bay and dock
specialist first gained the
accreditation in February
2007 and immediately
began a complete review
of its environmental
policies.
All company staff were
encouraged to 'think
green' and consider the
effects of their everyday
actions. As a result, when
it came to renew its ISO
14001 accreditation,
Stertil Stokvis was able to
announce a 50% drop in
the amount of waste it
sends to landfill. This was
achieved by a combination
of introducing waste
recycling and investing in
a compactor to process
the remainder of the
