Waste disposal costs reduced

Pakawaste has supplied a Powerkrush 75 static compactor to HMP Moorland.

The Powerkrush 75 is the most popular static compactor in Pakawaste's range and is particularly suitable for use in light to medium industrial applications and other applications with a moderate amount of waste.

Waste volumes are reduced by a ratio of up to five to one, allowing HMP Moorland to experience significant financial benefits thanks to the resultant dramatic reduction in waste disposal costs.

Once the compaction container is full, it is removed by the waste contractor and another is attached to the compactor immediately. This means the prison is able to benefit from constant access to the compaction facilities.

There have also been environmental benefits. As Waste disposal costs reduced all waste on site is now containerised, the problems of waste wind scatter has been eliminated. Less space is needed for on site waste storage and the risks of fire and vermin infestation have been significantly reduced.
