Brine offers sensitive solution

Broadwood International is the UK distributor for the SnowEx range of salt and grit spreaders. The firm has responded to the increasing popularity of brine solutions for use in snow and ice winter maintenance applications by introducing the SnowEx VSS range.

Spraying is particularly suitable for sensitive areas where salt may corrode fittings or machines, or may damage foliage surrounding the area.

"One of the beauties of spraying is that you can apply ice-melt product with pinpoint accuracy, and in a quick and efficient manner," says Roy Wolfenden, manager at Broadwood.

Robust polyethylene tanks contain the de-icing liquid, which is applied via a 12v pump to the spray boom and hand lance. The spray boom is fitted with five spray nozzles on the main downward boom and a nozzle at each end.
