Snow longer a problem April 1st 2009 A Broadwood-supplied
SnowEx V-Maxx SP-8500
spreader mounted on a
SnowEx trailer and towed
behind a Ford Ranger pick-up
is keeping the roads and
carparks clear or ice and
snow at Longannet Power
Station in Scotland.
"Since we purchased the
SnowEx we haven't had to
contact our external
contractor at all, and when
the temperature drops to
1°C we simply hitch up the
SnowEx trailer and, with
minimal training, any of our
operatives can carry out full
grit spreading duties," says
Gordon Haylott, Ash Plant
Co-Ordinator for facilities
management firm, Norec.
"This is more convenient
and represents a substantial
saving in labour costs."
Built in the USA, and
proven in extreme conditions
on the other side of the
Atlantic, the SnowEx V-Maxx
SP-8500 is a 1600 litre
capacity spreader powered
by a direct-drive 12v motor
and enables full control of
spread width and rate from
the in-cab controller. More articles from Broadwood International: |
