Who needs loading bays?

Not having a loading bay isn't a problem at carpet tile manufacturer Sanquhar Tile Services thanks to a Thorworld mobile yardramp.

The company receives a shipment of material each month, which were previously offloaded at a nearby site that had a loading bay, then taken in batches to the main production plant. Now the 9m customised unloading system is in place, the company is making considerable savings.

"It cost two thirds the price of building a loading bay and we also benefit from on-going savings after doing away wth double handling," says production director, David Lind.
