Weyfringe Barcode & Labelling Systems says it has become the industry’s only business north of Manchester to receive accreditation from its official business association, GS1 UK. The company is now one of only five solution providers in the UK to have achieved this prestigious level of qualification.

Director Andrew Gleghorn said news of the GS1 UK accreditation was a great start to 2005. “It will help us prove to prospective customers that we have the ability to correctly guide them through the often complex barcoding maze and provide the correct equipment to allow them to meet the required standards,” he added.

The process involved Weyfringe sales engineers attending two intensive training and examination courses. This was followed by a thorough on-site audit of the company’s barcode procedures and technical ability.

Added Gleghorn: “Stringent new EU regulations on traceability which affect the food industry came into force at the start of the year and could open up new markets for us so this qualification has come at the perfect time.”
