How low cost sound meters sound good
April 1st 2008

Casella is introducing a new addition to its CEL-200 range of sound level meters. The CEL-240 is for users that require a low cost meter that is still fully compliant with national and international standards.

Based on on digital signal processing (DSP) technology, it features a large high-resolution display to show noise levels numerically. This can be a bar graph or a time history trace, giving the trend within the last 1 or 5 minutes of the trace. It also has a non-decaying maximum hold on displays showing A or C frequency weighting, with fast, slow or impulse time response.

Casella's low cost noise monitor is part of the CEL- 240/K1 measurement kit, but is also available on its own.
