Modular machine safety fencing
December 1st 2007 A new versatile, modular
machine safety fencing
system has been launched
by Troax. The Smart Fix
system ensures high levels
of safety for staff working in
factories where industrial
robots, conveyors and other
potentially hazardous
automated machinery are in
operation. Supplied in a
convenient kit format,
Smart Fix machine fencing
can be quickly assembled by
a single person, making it
cost-effective for
applications as diverse as
isolating robotic cells to
guarding conveyors and
materials handling systems.
The fencing features a
new type of bracket, which
further simplifies fitting.
The height of the bracket
can also be adjusted easily
to suit a particular
application. To further
reduce assembly time on
site, doors (either swing or
sliding) are supplied in a
pre-assembled kit and can
be fitted with Troax's Safe-
Lock mechanical interlocking
system. Smart Fix's
wire mesh panels are
constructed from steel tube
for maximum strength and
rigidity and have undergone
energy absorption tests to
ensure safety. The fencing
saves floor space within the
production area as its
100mm x 20mm mesh
aperture enables it to be
placed close to the
