Products, has installed A-Safe safety
barriers to act as part of a fall
protection system at its parent roll
warehouse in Flint. The barriers in
the HGV loading bay protect staff
against falls from a considerable
height.
Simon Hobson, site safety leader,
comments: "The problem we had was
particular to this area and required a
tailor-made product. Basically, we
needed to cut out the potential hazard
of employees falling into the pit next
to the loading bay area, but
permanent barriers would have been
impractical, because the personnel
needed free access to do their jobs.
A-Safe provided the answer by
specially designing the barriers in
removable sections, so a specific
barrier can be moved out of the way
when the wagons move into position
to be loaded or unloaded. The perfect
