Matting’s 70% less slippy August 1st 2005 A new top surface has been designed for Plastic Extruder’s Vynagrip industrial safety matting, increasing its slip resistance by more than 70%.
The deeply etched surface has been introduced in a bid to reduce slips, trips and falls which are particularly acute where liquid spillages present a hazard.
The high rating was verified in independent laboratory tests (using DIN 51130) where the matting is laid on a tilting table and covered with an oily substance. An assistant, wearing calibrated footwear, stands on the surface until the table is lifted to an angle at which sliding begins to occur. Vynagrip’s new surface is rated R12 which is equivalent to an almost 30° angle of incline compared with its previous R10 rating (incline 17.2°).
Manufactured from PVC in a grid-welded format, new Vynagrip is hard wearing. Because it is comfortable to stand on, it helps to reduce working fatigue which in turn increases productivity.
According to the company the flexible composition of the matting also provides cushioning which will reduce damage to any components accidentally dropped. The open-grid facilitates very easy drainage for dissipating spillages and other debris. The matting will contour over rough or uneven surfaces and is easily cut and shaped to fit around machines or benches.
Vynagrip is available in widths of 60, 91 and 122cm in rolls or modules More articles from Plastic Extruders Ltd: |
