consequences of
overloading, RDS
Technology has responded
with a new range of onboard
load-monitoring
systems specifically designed
for improving forklift truck
safety in and around the
warehouse environment.
In order to ensure the
forklift does not exceed rated
lifting capacity and therefore
run the risk of tip-over, the
Liftalert informs the
operator of load as
a percentage of the
preset maximum
capacity. A
hydraulic load
sensor is used to
measure the
increase in system
pressure and when
the overload
threshold is
approached and at the
overload point, integral visual
and audible alarms will
inform the operator of load
status. This helps the
driver to avoid accidents,
increasing the safety of the
forklift and surrounding
environment.
The Liftlog 100 is an
extension of the Liftalert's
functionality. Alongside the
overload warning alarms, it
also displays load as a live
weight. This enables the
operator to safely load
vehicles and storage
systems without risk of
exceeding the permitted
