Lifting with a swing in its arm April 1st 2008 The Two-Joint Swing Arm is
the new floor-mounted unit
from vacuum lifting
equipment company AL-Vac.
An electrically driven pump
generates the vacuum in the
unit, which travels through
the machine's inside
framework before entering
the 'concertina style' lifting
cylinder. The unit's lifting
and suction power is
provided by the vacuum to
move bulky items such as
construction parts, boxes,
sacks and rolls. A safety
feature allows the concertina
tube to lose vacuum power
first should a power failure
occur, enabling the unit load
to be laid down before the
vacuum head releases it.
The joint at the top of the
unit's upright post allows
360° rotation giving
flexibility when
manoeuvring within
different locations. The
machine can be fixed to the
floor or moved around.
The standard unit has an
outreach of 2500mm that
can be increased to
3000mm if required.
Standard lift height is
1750mm. This can also be
increased. A single-phase or
three-phase motor can be
specified.
The Two-Joint Swing Arm
unit is moved into place by a
pallet truck or forklift and
connected to the power
supply. A push button starts
the vacuum process and the
vacuum head grips and lifts
the load when pressed
lightly on the top. A control
bar governs height. The two
joints in the swing arm allow
loads to be placed into the
required position with
precision. More articles from Al-Vac UK Ltd: |
