Robust lift and drive truck from Robur
April 1st 2007 Leading security printers Portals, producers of specialist paper-based products including UK passports and travellers cheques, have replaced traditional hand pallet trucks with a Robur powered lift and drive model. The change came after recommendation from Stanley Handling, as part of the company's drive to meet modern heath and safety legislation and to increase operating efficiency in the handling of an everincreasing volume of mould paper and foil threads. With a maximum load capacity of 2000kg, the operational capability and electronic speed control with electromagnetic braking make the new machine easy and safe to handle. The Robur truck has both powered lift and drive and was specified with a higher than standard 240AH capacity battery to cope with the gradients. Options within the range include greater weight capacities, extended fork lengths and widths, and various accessories. Project Engineer Lennie Ladd says "The powered drive has made light work of handling loads of up to 850kg, eliminated the strain involved and made the task much safer."
