Safety in the charger room
April 1st 2007 It is vital that health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times in the work place, especially when personnel are operating in areas with hazardous substances such as acid. Chloride Motive Power (CMP) has come up with a way of making battery charging and maintenance safer. As well as offering advice, CMP can provide companies that use traction batteries with a dedicated 'Health and Safety Station', this can be wall-mounted in the charger room. The purpose-designed station contains essential clothing and equipment for use during maintenance operations, including rubber gloves, visor, breathing masks, eyewash and soda ash to neutralise acid spills.
