Crown's TSP 6000 Series sets new standards in flexibility, reliability and operator comfort and excels in very narrow-aisle applications. Plus, with five major awards already in the bag, you don't have to take the manufacturer's word for it

The new turret order picker beat no less than six other short-listed contenders to win the top award at the FLTA Awards 2007. The TSP carried off the prestigious 'Innovation' Award, wowing voters with its superb performance in very narrow aisles, its revolutionary platform and seat and its latest mast technology.

As it comes onto the market in mainland Europe and the UK, the TSP 6000 Series is being snapped up by leading manufacturers who recognise that it has been designed to help warehouse managers maximise space utilisation and materials-handling productivity.

And talking of design, the TSP has also won more leading design awards, as the iF Product Design Award 2007, the 'red dot award: best of the best' awarded annually for superior design quality in Europe, the Industrial Designers Society of America 'Silver IDEA' and the 'GOOD DESIGN' award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

So what makes the TSP so special? Why all the excitement and plaudits? The TSP has a three-point design, giving it a very tight turning radius and greater manoeuvrability than its competitors.

Alongside this flexibility it can perform a multitude of tasks throughout the warehouse including picking, transporting and staging. Excellent productivity and durability and a robust truck that needs little maintenance are other good reasons.

Operator and truck working in harmony is the key to increased productivity and this is realised in many different ways. Multitask controls save valuable positioning time. The main mast can raise and lower while the auxiliary mast raises, lowers, pivots or traverses all while the truck is travelling. The 'Auto-Pivot' function synchronises the traverse and pivot movements automatically to keep the pallet evenly centred between warehouse racks, again enhancing productivity and, importantly, reducing rack and product damage.

Crown's proven Access 123 Comprehensive System Control, keeps all the TSP's systems – from hydraulics to traction to steering – in constant communication. The truck's powerful AC lift and traction motors provide smooth and precise acceleration.

All the trucks in the range excel at full pallet handling at heights due to their solid foundation, unmatched stability and ease of control.

Picking operations are improved thanks to the exceptional flexibility of the TSP 6000 Series, allowing the operator to pick and place at any elevation with full confidence – whether with partial or full pallet loads.

The compact three wheel design provides excellent manoeuvrability and a tight turning radius to help the operator easily position loads. And the carrying capacity and fast travel speeds of the TSP 6000 series emphasise its value as an all round warehouse truck.

Crown's exclusive Load Path Stability (LPS) design has already proven itself in numerous man-up applications. The load is evenly distributed from the platform through the mast to the frame and through the power unit to the ground. An integral part of this is the Crown closed-section mast, specifically created to minimise twisting and swaying. It is unique in the lift truck industry and offers unparalleled stability at heights.

Last but not least, unprecedented attention is paid to ergonomics and operator comfort. The revolutionary platform of the TSP 6000 reflects Crown's high standards. Crown's MoveControl seat gives the operator a choice of seated and standing positions. With the ability to rotate through 110° it offers four positions to enhance visibility and operator orientation for specific tasks. Adjustable controls in the cushioned armrests allow free access to pallet and rack. For operator safety, the compartment features sensors in the floor and hand controls that ensure the operator is in the proper position before the truck can operate.

First trucks on the market The new TSP has been chosen by cosmetics giant Coty Rimmel's warehouse managers – the first order for the TSP 6000 in the UK.

Coty have ordered the new TSPs on a contract hire deal. In Europe, Impex, the French supplier of car, bicycle and motorcycle accessories, was the first Crown customer to order the new TSP 6000 Series. "It was very important to us to choose a brand we could trust, to be sure we were getting a totally reliable product," explains Impex Director Jean-Paul Benet.

And he goes on to define in a few words just how innovative the TSP really is: "Compared with our previous models, we've moved straight from the stone age to the modern era".
