Reel to reel film transfer
April 1st 2006

Staff at Amcor Flexibles Camvac, a division of one of the world's largest packaging companies, are benefiting from a mechanical handling solution provided by MasterMover.

Operators were using barrows to move around large reels of plastic film, used for producing metallised packaging for the food industry. The reels weigh up to 1.5t and the distances they needed to be pushed between processes was creating a health and safety issue.

MasterMover supplied three MT3/240 tugs. The versatile machine transfers weight from the load using a manual or hydraulic mast.

"We were very impressed with MasterMover's quick response and the demonstration of their MT3/240. It enables our employees to move the reels over long distances with little effort, thus preventing potential long term injuries," says Bob Jarman, engineering manager at Amcor Flexibles Camvac.

There are 11 models in the MasterTug range, capable of pulling and pushing any wheeled or semi-wheeled load from 50 to 30,00kg.
