DLR chooses grate antislip solution
June 1st 2006 As part of its commitment to maintaining high standards, Docklands Light Railway was carried out a service station refit. The existing metal platform, although strong, did not exceed safety requirements.
As a low maintenance, cost effective alternative, DLR selected a Fibreglass Grating decking system - a product that is claimed to have consistently reduced accidents in all types of industries.
The grating boasts one of the highest degrees of slip resistance for a walking surface, especially in wet, oily or frosty work areas. The integral gritted top provides long-lasting slip resistance.
In this case the 135m bay platform was installed by a four man team in two days, with minimum disruption and will provide a lowmaintenance, safe surface for many years to come, says the manufacturer. More articles from Dura Composites Ltd: |
