Purpose-built flameproof forklifts

Weilburger Schramm Coatings has cut the cost of handling by replacing a converted reach truck and counterbalance forklift with a Sichelschmidt purposebuilt flameproof forklift supplied by Ability Handling.

‘The main attractions of the Sichelschmidt were cost savings and versatility,’ said Logistics manager, Phil Anderson. ‘As flameproof systems on converted trucks were superseded by new ones, we were obliged to pay substantial amounts to upgrade.

Having the Sichelschmidt has eliminated the need for this and dramatically reduced maintenance costs, as it is more convenient to deal with a sole dedicated supplier such as Ability Handling. By my reckoning we have cut costs by a third since the Sichelschmidt has been in use.’
