Free risk assessment calculator
August 1st 2004 Procter Machinery Guarding is giving away a free risk assessment calculator based on the requirements of BS EN 1050, the standard for machinery risk assessments. This will be sent by email upon request and can be used on PCs running Microsoft Excel.
Designed with ease of use as a priority, the calculator incorporates checklists and look-up tables to enable risk assessments to be carried out on almost any static machinery. A Hazard Rating Number (HRN) and Risk Level are calculated automatically for each identified hazard, indicating at a glance where users should consider taking action.
All calculations are automatically made all the user has to do is enter the data and decided values to use for likelihood of occurrence, frequency of exposure, degree of possible harm and number of persons at risk using the guides provided.
