Silo valve meets HSE guidelinesFebruary 1st 2004
Portasilo Bulk Handling Systems has developed the new Portasilo PRV350 combined pressure and vacuum relief valve for the protection of silos from damaging over- and under-pressurisation encountered during powder filling and emptying.
The valve complies with guidelines issued by the HSE in the recent publication, Guidance to prevent over-pressurisation of storage silos during the delivery of powder. According to Portasilo, existing valves on the market do not fully comply with the guidelines with regard to the maximum airflow requirements and the need to keep the combined set pressure and pressure accumulation below the safe working pressure of the silo.
The PRV350 is capable of venting 11,000m3/hr in an over pressure situation and 2000m3/hr under vacuum.
