Insulated containers for Eismann
February 1st 2007 Eismann refrigerated delivery vehicles are a common sign across large areas of the country. Hidden behind these is the cold store and delivery service to get the frozen foods to the local depots. Located centrally in Luton, Eismann has been using Olivo insulated containers for the last two and a half years as part of this distribution system. Orders are placed from each local depot by 4pm daily and the large trunk trailers leave later each evening. Eismann uses local delivery vehicles operating at between -20 and -30°C to keep the frozen products in perfect condition. The current fleet of 133 delivery vehicles is split between Mercedes- Benz and Iveco and recent improvements in the design and construction of the insulated bodies have produced a considerable weight saving. The Olivo Roll 900 containers used by Eismann have eutectic plate refrigeration. These containers, with very strong roto-moulded plastic construction, have a volume of 910 litres and a K value of 0.27 W/m2 degrees C.
