Refrigeration innovation
June 1st 2005

Temperature controlled storage and distribution specialist, Innov@te Logistics, is beefing up its Midlands presence with the opening of a state-of-the-art distribution centre on the Manton Wood Enterprise Park in Worksop.

The facility, located on the A57 just off the A1, is in a prime position to service the retail food giants and manufacturing sectors in the area. The 145,000 ft2 facility has the capacity to hold up to 17,000 pallets and operates on a 24/7 basis.

Grampian Country Food Group is the new facility’s first customer.

Pete Osborne, Innov@te’s managing director says “It’s an exciting time for us. With the recent relocation of our headquarters to Nottingham and now the opening of the new Worksop complex to augment the Chesterfield operation, we have secured a dominant market position in the area.” Innov@te says that, as with its other DCs, great attention has been given to minimise environmental impact. By using zero ozone depleting refrigerants which have no global warming effect, implementing water resource conservation initiatives and ensuring energy efficient electrical consumption, Innov@te’s Worksop facility offers first class service with minimal adverse affects. The firm also has DCs in Chesterfield, Scunthorpe, Birmingham and Nottingham.
