Siemens specifies Loadhog
February 1st 2006

The use of Loadhog lids is reported to be providing major environmental, cost and efficiency savings to electrical engineering giant Siemens Automation and Drives.

After a successful pilot project, the award-winning firm is providing Siemens with 800 lids. These are being used by a number of suppliers throughout the UK to secure and deliver parts to Siemens' Congleton manufacturing plant.

Siemens A&D has been so impressed with the operational and environmental benefits of the Loadhog, it is now trialling the system on a cross divisional basis at its two other component manufacturing operations in Germany and France.

This is the first major blue chip customer to specify the Loadhog lid system for supplies into its own manufacturing site. Graham Podmore, key account executive at Loadhog, said: "This is a first for this type of application. We have always sold to the end user but Siemens is specifying the use of Loadhog with its component suppliers."

Components are delivered in to and stored at Congleton using the Loadhog lid system. Empty reusable boxes and totes are fully secured for return to the supplier with no need for disposable packaging.
