 Detects damage during transit
December 1st 2004

The RD298 ShockLog from Lamerholm Electronics is fitted directly to a product or packaging to record impacts and environmental conditions. Through this, any harm caused during an individual journey or a storage period of up to 12 months can be detected. As a result it can help reduce or eliminate the cost of damage caused to products through mishandling, inappropriate storage and transport mishaps.

The RD298 ShockLog has a compact and self-contained design, weighing in at just 0.7kg, with its rugged IP67 rated aluminium casing measuring 194 x 84 x 42mm. It has user programmable warning and alarm thresholds and uses standard C size batteries. It is available in four versions, some of which can be achieved through software upgrades.
