Reducing packaging weight
August 1st 2008 Jemac Packaging has
introduced a new prestretched
wrapping film
in response to customer
requests for a product
that gives high level
security for pallet load, is
cost effective and kind to
the environment.
Jemac says the film is
easier to use, provides
greater stability and
reduces the weight of
packaging by 50%.
The company's
research found that due
to a lack of training,
customers were not
stretching the film
adequately to provide the
required stability on the
pallet and minimise film
usage. The new film is
pre-stretched so all of the
required characteristics
are integral in the film.
Jemac says one
customer reduced the
quantities purchased by
57% in film weight saving
it £6,500 per year in
