Import’s goods tracking boost
June 1st 2005

South coast-based Logistics firm, Import Services, claims its tracking system gives customers benefits that no other contract logistics company can match.

Using the system, the company is able to log and despatch delivery and stockholding information, enabling Import Services to be 100% accurate as to the exact stage of packing, despatch or delivery that customers’ goods are at. The password-protected system means that customers can log on and see, at any given time, where their goods are. The Windows-based system is based upon a 20 minute refresh and update capability, providing the latest information on despatch, deliveries, goods inwards and returns. “This is a great benefit for our customers,” says John Eynon, MD, Import Services.

“They just log on and, at the click of a mouse, they are fully informed of progress.” Eynon goes as far as to claim the system “actually provides them with an easier route to logistical information on their business than they could obtain from their own warehouse!”.

Toy manufacturer, Flair Plc (which handles toy brands such as Sylvanian Families), endorses Eynon’s claim.

According to Flair financial director, Carl Moran: “Having this information at our fingertips has saved us time and means we can respond more quickly to our customers’ queries.”
