Domestic bliss for cleaner April 1st 2006 A major UK producer of household domestic products recently began using containers being returned empty to a large continental supermarket chain. In order to achieve this a pack for bulk shipments of bleach with an in-store display facility to off-set costs was required.
The company turned to DS Smith for a solution.
Combined transit and display packs have become a critical area for producers and retailers alike. Each solution is unique and DS Smith works closely with its customers on every project.
In this case cost was the overriding issue and by choosing a hood and tray option DS Smith was able to retain the packaging in 'B' flute single wall.
By designing the hood to go inside the tray a 'tight' pack was ensured, giving double wall stacking strength to the individual cases for bulk shipments.
Further, the simplicity of the concept enabled the existing case erectors to be used before hand packing.
With the integrity of the product ensured complementary cutouts were developed in the hood and tray to give a large viewing 'window'. This enabled the product within the pack to be visible from all sides both in the warehouse and in the store. More articles from DS Smith Packaging: |
