 Fitting full capability in small spaces

Demonstrating its ability
to supply bespoke
packaging systems,
Matco (represented in
the UK by Jemac
Packaging), has
supplied Alcan
Packaging with a
machine that fits a small
space but has the
capabilities of a full size
machine. Alcan
Packaging had three
types of palletised load:
a boxed product on a
pallet to be wrapped, a
sheet material that
needed strapping and
wrapping, and aluminium
reels that required taking off
the pallet and wrapping
with film.
The bespoke system
delivered includes: floor
level pallet drop off point,
pallet lift to raise pallet to
system height, detection of
pallet type/size by photo cell
technology, wagon transfer
to take pallet to strapping
system, vertical pallet
strapping machine for PET
strap and SLC turntable
pallet wrap machine for
wrapping with 90° exit
point. Alcan Packaging was
then able to manage the
specified thoroughput
requirements of 15 pallets
an hour. Matco's sole UK
