Investment in a Jiffy June 1st 2009
Pregis Protective
Packaging Europe is
investing £500,000 in
new end of line packing
equipment for its famous
Jiffy brand.
The system at Pregis
UK's Winsford factory will
provide enhanced
customer service and
further support Jiffy's
continuing expansion into
mainland European
markets, where it has
enjoyed considerable
success and growth in
recent years.
The new equipment
will both increase
production efficiency for
Jiffy's wide range of
protective mailers and
enable orders to be
tailored to individual
customer requirements. It
comprises automated
robotics for the assembly
of flat pack cartons and
placement of mailers into
boxes, along with vision
systems to check quality
and quantities. Filled
boxes can be stacked on
to standard, Euro or
customer specific pallets
as required.
The automated system
also allows the creation of
multi-packs on-line for the
first time for a faster and
more cost-efficient
operation, while the latest
banding technology
reduces outer packaging,
delivering environmental
benefits. More articles from Pregis NV: |
