Lock n pop to save cash and planet June 1st 2007
Every year millions of pallets
are unitised around the
world using the LOCK n' POP
water-based pallet
stabilisation system.
Applied in liquid form, it
'locks' packaging surfaces
together preventing lateral
movement of any kind,
according to suppliers,
Limpet Tapes. However,
with an upward lift the
surfaces 'pop' apart leaving
no sticky residue or damage
to either surface. It also
allows partial pallet destacking
without affecting
the stability of the
remaining load.
Unitising without using
wraps, straps or hot melt
adhesives, LOCK n' POP can
significantly increase pallet
stability and reduce
packaging waste – in some
instances, eliminating it
altogether. FDA approved, it
is suitable for use on sacks,
bags, boxes or multipacks
whether fabricated out of
paper, board or plastic and
does not affect packaging's
recycling characteristics.
With stretchwrap and hot
melt adhesives showing
sharp price increases, LOCK
n' POP is even more
economical. Compared to
stretchwrap, Limpet Tapes
says CO2 is cut by 99%.
