Conveyor-free auto strapping and wrapping February 1st 2005 Cyklop says its TwinPack is a compact and cost-effective unit allowing both strapping and stretchwrapping operations of up to 1500kg to take place using the wrapper’s turntable for both packing operations – meaning a driven conveyor line need not be installed.
Combining the attributes of Cyklop’s XP112MVB vertical strapping machine and the GL215 stretch wrapping machine, palletised goods are loaded via a ramp or forktruck onto the 60mm high turntable. The positioning of the load ensures the strapping lance has clear entry through the pallet void, and, once the pallet is placed on the turntable, the operator selects whether strapping or stretch wrapping will take place first.
Strapping is carried out with a CFH1 strapping head and a lance to feed polyester strap of between 9mm and 19mm through the pallet void and up over the load.
The strap is then automatically tensioned, friction sealed and cut – and the turntable then rotates to the required position for the next load.
For stretchwrapping, TwinPack can achieve prestretch tension of between 60% and 300%. More articles from Cyklop UK Limited: |
