Speedy wrapping & film economy April 1st 2009 With the introduction of the
GL300, Cyklop's range of
semi automatic wrappers
offered up to nine wrapping
programs and 400% prestretch.
The company has
now developed the machine
further by introducing a film
cutting and sealing unit
designed with fork truck
operators in mind.
The new GL300 can be
started by remote control
from the truck. Then, when
the wrap has been
completed, the film is
automatically cut and
the trailing end
attached to the
load, eliminating
the need for the
operator to leave
the forklift. This
type of system is
more
commonly
associated
with more
expensive fully
automated equipment using
a conveyor.
According to David Hearn,
managing director of
Cyklop, this new concept
will be of particular interest
to companies where
wrapping speeds and
economy of film are prime
considerations. All the
operator has to concern
themselves with is placing
and removing the loads
from the turntable and
changing the reel of stretch
film. The whole process is
said to be quick, efficient,
reliable and cost effective. More articles from Cyklop UK Limited: |
