Wrap and roll at Sunflex October 1st 2007 Based in Cannock, Sunflex
makes a wide range of
domestic blinds. These are
despatched to stores on
pallets, which often contain
a variety of shapes and
sizes of box and can weigh
up to 1t. Tight wrapping is
a must for product
protection and to minimise
any risk of a collapsed load.
Palletised loads used to
be wrapped manually but
the time-consuming nature
of this process and concern
over manual handling,
prompted the company to
seek a more efficient.
Sunflex looked at several
suppliers and were
impressed by the ease of
use and wrapping quality
achieved by a GL215 semiautomatic
turntable stretch
wrapper from Cyklop UK.
The company has now
bought two of these.
Sunflex compliance
manager John Humphries
says "We despatch around
200 palletised loads each
week from our warehouse
and virtually no two are the
same in terms of height,
weight or shape.
"The Cyklop GL215
impressed us because of the
tightness and consistency
of wrapping which it
achieves by automatically
detecting the height and
width of loads and
wrapping accordingly. The
integral pre-stretch system
can stretch film by up to
300%." More articles from Cyklop UK Limited: |
