SCA stars in new TV series
June 1st 2010 Discovery Television has launched a
10 part TV series called Industrial
Junkie, to launch new channel, Quest
TV.
For the Packaging episode
Discovery asked the SCA Group to
take part and the outcome was a half
hour programme, featuring SCA
sites worldwide.
The programme began and ended
at SCA Packaging's Hinckley site in
the UK, where the production of
high performance heavy duty double
and triple wall corrugated board and
boxes was examined, ending with the
presenter, Jonny Smith (of Channel
5's Fifth Gear) being fork lifted away
inside a man shaped heavy duty box.
The programme also featured tree
harvesting in SCA forests in
northern Sweden (SCA plant 50
million trees every year, 3 for each
one cut) and SCA's Munksund mill,
where heavy duty 440 gsm Kraft
