Quick fix conveyor repairs
December 1st 2007

Horizon Conveyor Equipment's Magna-Patch is keeping goods moving at Bristol Port, giving conveyor operators a quick, secure patch solution in high-wear or breakdown situations.

Comparable to putting a plaster on a cut, the reusable magnetic patch keeps operations moving until more permanent repairs can be carried out later on, minimising costly down time.

At Bristol Port, Norec operates a maintenance contract at the Bulk Handling Terminal, and is responsible for mechanical maintenance, breakdown and repair of all equipment owned by RWEnpower. It oversees the handling of five million tonnes of coal every year through the terminal. By adopting the Magna-Patch, which is rated to 60psi, and patches up holes in steel components susceptible to abrasion, Norec has greater control over maintenance procedures and schedules.
