Streamlining delivery operations

Following a full pilot project, supply chain and logistics systems integrator, Microlise, has been selected to deliver a multi million pound contract to streamline the transport and delivery operations of the Co-Operative Group

The system, based on the Microlise Fleet & Distribution portfolio of solutions and using Intermec mobile data terminals in the cab, will be installed in about 1000 delivery vehicles operating from 17 distribution centres.

It will provide real-time vehicle position data, delivery schedule adherence and proof of delivery, together with continuous temperature monitoring of the trailer.

In addition it will provide drivers with last mile satellite navigation and monitor the way the vehicle is being driven using soft telematics.
