April 1st 2007 Hand Held Products has launched the 4820i Industrial Cordless 2D imager. Designed specifically for use in warehousing, manufacturing, transportation and logistics applications, the 4820i is built to ensure high performance and reliability in the harshest environments. Features include: Powered by Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0, the 4820i aggressively reads all linear and 2D bar codes at any angle, including those that are damaged and poorly printed, plus has the ability to capture digital images. A thumbwheel end-cap gives operators the ability to swap batteries on-the-fly instead of docking the canner for charging – essential for operations that run multiple shifts and require constant scanner availability. Innovative battery management and robust Li- Ion technology which powers up to 50,000 scans before requiring a recharge. Engineered for lightness and comfort, durability is also industrial-grade: the unit survives 50 drops to concrete from 2m. IP54 rating – protected against blown dust and water intrusion.
