Floor plan measurement made easy

MBS Survey Software has developed MBS Floor Plans and MBS Elevations for survey professionals who understand the requirements of creating accurate building surveys first hand.

The solutions also include a Bluetooth enabled Leica DISTO plus laser measurement device and a Psion Teklogix Netbook Pro handheld, which allow buildings to be measured and details recorded directly onto the computer.

Aimed at surveyors and architects – but also at facilities managers – it uses the laser measuring device to create a starting point for the floor plan, then as the user moves around the walls of the area with the measuring device, the data is transferred via Bluetooth directly to the handheld computer and a graphical view of the room is generated on screen. Details can then be checked on site before emailing back to the main office system for final processing, reducing CAD work by up to 80%.
