Deli-cate product handling August 1st 2007 Pregis FoodService
Packing manufacturers
turned to Weyfringe to
come up with a cost
effective way to label its
salad and deli containers.
Weyfringe used its
Series 6000 label
applicator to apply the
labels and built a
conveyor system fitted
with elevated flights to
ensure the correct
location of the product
prior to label application.
The shape of the pots
required a new method of
product handling.
Weyfringe developed a
twin reciprocating
pnematic jaw system
which provides adequate
support for the tall stack
of pots or lids and
allowed the controlled
and reliable dispensing of
individual product on to
the conveyor for labelling.
Weyfringe also
developed a thrust
mechanism with twin
traversing collators,
which counted the
restacked containers and
switched the destination
collator as required. "The
lid and pot labelling
systems developed for us
have allowed us to bring
to market a novel
concept in an affordable
and reliable way," says Bill
Colquhoun of Pregis.
"Weyfringe took our
design specification and
came up with the goods
which have been running
reliably ever since." More articles from Weyfringe Ltd: |
