Labelling system goes live October 1st 2007 Castleisland Mart, one of
Ireland's livestock
auctioneers, has achieved
substantial cost savings due
to a labelling
system devised by
Weber Marking
Systems for the
faster and more
efficient
production and
application of
labels. Prior to
investing in the
system,
Castleisland had
been using paper
labels, usually
hand-written, to
detail lot number. These
were then applied with glue.
The company installed an
automated labelling
software package, including
Weber's Zebra 2746e
printer, and then asked
Weber to design a selfadhesive
labelling solution
that would allow them to
print a lot number
automatically from the
system. Following a site
visit, Weber recommended
the combination of a 76 by
73mm Fastyre label and
Weber Easymark B220
Ribbon. The label
specification has now been
refined by adding a
perforation on the backing
paper between each label to
increase ease of use for
operators. "We are very
pleased with the new
system, which is working
well," says Gerard Carmody
of Castleisland.
"The process is now much
less labour intensive, which
means our operation is
more efficient." More articles from Weber Marking Systems Limited: |
