Performance monitoring app
October 1st 2010

Vitronic is reported to be the first manufacturer of camera-based parcel identification technology to offer an 'App' for system operators wishing to check their hub's performance and efficiency. Compatible with Apple's touch-screen iPad, it allows users to run remote diagnostics immediately from any location in network range.

System operators need to be aware of current read rates and other statistics to optimise facilities for efficient running, but can lose track of things when they leave their desks.

Vitronic's new App solves this problem. A quick glance at the iPad is enough to check a hub's performance figures completely wirelessly.

With just a couple of finger swipes, the user-friendly app can display the status and read-rate of each parcel identification unit, plus all current and archived read results.

Many companies already use webbased software to monitor automated sorting systems. Up until now, this has only been possible at fixed workstations.Vitronic's iPad App collects the necessary information and displays it to the user, wherever in the hub they may be.
